Ken Wyatt makes history again

    Western Australian Ken Wyatt made history as the first Indigenous federal frontbencher when he took on the Aged Care portfolio in January 2017. Ken Wyatt makes history again becoming the first Indigenous Minister for Indigenous Affairs, as the announcement was made on National Sorry Day, Sunday 26 May 2019. Mr. Wyatt will be supported by a new National Indigenous Australians agency, attached to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.

    His message on Twitter posted shortly after the announcement said he was “committed to working and walking together our elders, families and communities to ensure the greatness of our many nations is reflected in the greatness of our Australian nation, now and forever’.

    WA State would like to congratulate Ken Wyatt on his new appointment and wish him every success in his new role
