    Apunipima Cape York Health Council is offering free checks to the community of Hopevale, Queensland, to assist the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to maintain good health.


     


    The checks will take place at:


    Matthew Bowen Multipurpose Training Centre at Hopevale


    17-19 Feburary 2015


    9am to 3pm.


     


    The Health Promotions team are expecting to see more than 120 clients during the three-day event.


     


    Includes screening for vision, high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney disease, sexual health, social and emotional wellbeing, hearing, feet and oral health. For the first time there will also be a cardiovascular risk assessment where people can have immediate results on cholesterol and HbA1cs, and overall three-month blood glucose level percentage.


     


    The event is an initiative between Apunipima, Queensland Health and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
