Hi Everyone,
We would like to thank The Fred Hollows Foundation staff in Darwin for making Sam and myself feel so welcome at the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet Eye health workshop on Monday. We were fortunate to have a great group of dedicated participants attend and to hear their feedback about the how they use the AIH resources to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health. It was enlightening to have listened to a short presentation by Aaron Briscoe about the latest Diabetic retinopathy MBS initiatives and how this will hopefully improve uptake of screening for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in rural and remote areas. We hope our participants gained as much knowledge as we did attending this workshop and we encourage other interested people in Melbourne and Perth registered to attend the workshops to think about how they can contribute to knowledge translation to improve eye health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander when they attend their respective sessions. Please do not hesitate to contact either Sam or myself if you have any new resources, programs, publication or information relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health that your would like to share. Please check out the photos of the workshop in the photo gallery.
Kind regards
Trish Amaranti and Sam Burrow
Eye health Coordinators.

Hi Everyone,
I am Trish Amaranti, the new Eye health Yaring place coordinator. There has been a lot of activity for Eye health recently at the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet, with a new partnership with The Fred Hollows Foundation who are funding the extension and revamping of the Eye health web resource. We have been busy adding new content to the Eye health workforce portal, with a focus on Diabetic retinopathy. We will also be conducting three Eye health workforce training workshops over the next few weeks around the nation. The first workshop will be in Darwin on Monday 14 November, then Melbourne on the 18 November and the last one will be in Perth on Thursday 1 December 2016. We also have a new monthly Eye health newsletter so sign up to receive the latest information about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health. Please contact me if you know of any new programs, resources or publications that we can add to the database about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health.
Kind regards,
Trish Amaranti
Research Officer
