Carers study

  • 28 January 2014

The University of New England is conducting a study on the impact of informal caregiving on the health and wellbeing of carers in rural and regional areas.

Over 2 million Australians provide care to a family member with chronic disease and/or disability, yet little is known about the health impact of sustained care-giving.

To be eligible for the study you must be over 18, live in a rural or regional area and be the primary or secondary carer for someone with any type of condition that requires you to look after them, this may be disability, mental illness, drug and alcohol dependencies, chronic condition, terminal illness, or someone who is frail.
