    About the role:
    The primary role is to support and improve services and health outcomes by assisting the CQI Facilitator in Anyinginyi Health’s quality improvement, development and monitoring objectives.

    Support improved service and health outcomes by assisting the CQI Facilitator with ACCHS and DoH PHC providers and other stakeholders to implement the agreed NT Aboriginal Health Forum (AHF) CQI Approach in the Barkly Health Service Delivery Area where needed.

    This position directly reports to the Anyinginyi Corporate Services Section CQI Facilitator on a daily basis with overall reporting to the Director of Corporate Services.

    About the opportunity

    The project is a collaborative partnership between three North Queensland Hospital and Health Services: Torres and Cape, Cairns and Hinterland (focusing on Hinterland centers) and Townsville Hospital HS (specifically Palm Island).

    The purpose of the project is to improve the health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rural and remote communities in North Queensland through an effective and appropriate Continuous Quality Improvement program and supporting infrastructure, with a key focus on improving partnerships across service providers.

    About the role

    Reporting to the Practice Manager, the CQI Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of CQI activities in all aspects of the services provided by Wurli- Wurlinjang Health Service (Wurli) to support improved service and health outcomes for our indigenous clients.
    Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation dedicated to improving the health and the quality of life of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients in order to create the opportunity to reach levels of health similar to non-Indigenous Australians.

    We have modern facilities and a friendly, multi-disciplinary team based in Katherine, Northern Territory.     About the role

    The Quality Improvement/ Chronic Disease Coordinator will provide national leadership and networking with State Affiliate CCQI Coordinators to facilitate iterative improvement in chronic disease prevention, management of health service delivery and change management processes. The role will also contributes to the development of sustainable, integrated and culturally appropriate models of service delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people using ACCHSs.


    About you

    The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following:

    *Understanding of the issues including social determinants affecting Aboriginal people’s health status in contemporary Australian society.
    *Practical experience in management or project management at an equivalent scale of complexity and geographical coverage in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled, non-government, public or private sectors.
    *Demonstrated ability to research and analyse complex material, summarise key issues and develop innovative and creative solutions.
    *Qualification in Health Sciences, Public Health or equivalent.
    *Demonstrated competence in use of Business technology and desktop applications, internet, word, spread sheet and database packages.
    *Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    *A current Drivers Licence.
