How to find an organisation/publication on the HealthInfoNet

  • 23 March 2016

    Good day PAMSWA readers,

This is an update from the Preventing Aboriginal Maternal Smoking WA yarning place on the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet about a journal article which outlines the effectiveness of maternal health programs.

The article called the Effectiveness of the Koorliny Moort out-of-hospital health care program for Aborginal and Torres Strait Islander children in Western Australia summarises that health-seeking behaviour and health outcomes for Aboriginal children can be improved by engaging Aboriginal families in their health care, providing effective communication between health service providers, and delivering a coordinated program of Aboriginal service provider-led care.

Read the whole article for more information and post on your thoughts on the PAMSWA yarning board.

    Kind regards,
    Trish O'Hara
    PAMSWA Coordinator

I was able to find an Aboriginal Organisation in the Pilbara region of WA. This was conducted by searching the Tab States and Territories, selecting WA to bring me to the WA Home page. This followed by selecting the organisation section, and then following easy steps to the specific Aboriginal organisation.

    Hi
I found "what do we know about protective and risk factors among the Indigenous population?"

This information was useful, in 2008 1 out of 6 children aged 0-3yrs lived with someone who smokes in the house.
