Oh, and while we're on the subject of dog health...

Is everyone aware that AMRRIC recently released a DVD that pulls together two resources on one single disc?

    The two resources are:

    * the ‘Dog Health Programs in Indigenous Communities’ manual (ideal for Environmental Health Workers and Animal Management Workers)
    * the ‘Caring for Dogs, Community & Country’ DVD

You can order the CD by printing out the form (below) and mailing it to:

    Hi there everyone!

Thought you might be interested to know that one of the latest editions of the 'Aboriginal and Islander Health Worker Journal' features a piece about a dog health program in an Indigenous community in northern NSW (Volume 35, Number 5, Sept/Oct 2012, page 28).

The article is about a dog health program run by the North Coast Public Health Unit in partnership with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), in conjunction with local government and the local Aboriginal Land Council.

Can anyone tell me about any other dog health programs in Indigenous communities that they know of?

    Cheers, Miranda

PS If you've got any questions about the article, just post them here!
