NATSIHS - ABS Field Surveys

  • 18 June

From July 2018 through to March 2019, Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) field interviewers will be visiting selected communities to conduct the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Survey (NATSIHS). The focus of NATSIHS is to gather information on the health and lifestyle issues which affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and it covers a range of factors including diet, exercise, culture, and health problems. The 2018 survey also has a voluntary component which includes measuring height, weight, blood pressure and conducting a hearing test.

Once again there are several Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander champions supporting the NATSIHS, including Jonathan Thurston (North Qld Cowboys), Charlie Cameron (Brisbane Lions) and Shellie Morris (Singer/Songwriter).

For your convenience this is the ABS YouTube channel which has a range of videos on NATSIHS available, as well as the most recent information brochure.
