EOI for a Koori Cook Off in NSW

  • 29 March 2019

To promote the Koori Cooking Program and the Koori Cook Off program and healthy cooking and eating among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, the Heart Foundation is offering a fully equipped Koori Cooking Trailer for hire to enable organisations to conduct Koori Cooking programs and Koori Cook Offs in their communities in New South Wales.

The Koori Cook Off is a one-day event, where four teams, of four, draw a healthy mystery meal. The members of the teams work together to cook the meal, which is then judged by Elders and sampled by community members. The Cook Off demonstrates cooking skills, enables community members to try ingredients and recipes they may not have tried previously and normalises healthy food.

This is your invitation to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to hire (at no hire cost) the Koori Cook Off trailer and coordinate a Koori Cooking Program in your region.
Applications close on Friday 19 April 2019.

Once an EOI has been received by the Heart Foundation, hire will be awarded based on an organisation’s demonstrated ability to deliver, in partnership with the Heart Foundation, a number of Koori Cooking Programs and Koori Cook Offs to a wide range of community groups.

The organisation awarded hire of a trailer must be able to commit to the Hire Agreement terms and conditions as attached, as well as the cost of ingredients and supplies for successful delivery of the programs (approximately $500 per four-week program).

The successful EOIs will be awarded hire of a lockable tradie trailer for an agreed term, which includes three 3m x 3m pop up shades, 4 tables, 4 double burner gas stoves and 4 boxes with cooking utensils and knives. (Attach Photos). The Heart Foundation will also deliver a 1-day training workshop to staff from organisations in the regions that will host the trailers. The successful organisations are encouraged to invite staff from other organisations in the region to attend training with a view to running their own programs.
