New nutrition programs and services review

  • 11 October

The Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet (HealthInfoNet) at Edith Cowan University has published a new Review of  programs and services to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nutrition and food security

This review highlights that improving diets, food supply and food security to prevent chronic disease and manage poor nutrition and related diet-disease is vital to improving the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and discusses future directions for combatting the growing epidemic of diet-related ill health among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This review builds on the recent Review of nutrition among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people published by the HealthInfoNet, written by Dr Amanda Lee from the Australian Prevention Partnership Centre, The Sax Institute and Kathy Ride from the HealthInfoNet in 2017.
